Production Manager

Location: Burton Upon Trent

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Production Manager at our site in Burton-on-Trent to join our Production team. You will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with Safety, Quality, and Environmental Standards while meeting Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets. You will drive continuous improvement activities across site to enhance profitability.

Description

Your main duties will include;

  • Manage resources and capacity planning to deliver products on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
  • Lead, train, and develop production teams, ensuring skills availability and succession planning.
  • Drive lean methodologies (5S, 7 Wastes, 5 Whys) to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs (H&S, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Costs).
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Foster a culture of QHSE and customer focus across production.
  • Create a high-performance, engaged team culture aligned with company values.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • IOSH Managing Safely (desirable) or willingness to obtain (essential).
  • Manufacturing people management experience, with coaching and development skills (essential).
  • Proven manufacturing experience, managing resources to meet specifications (essential).
  • Batch processing OEM experience (desirable).
  • Level 5 qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, or
  • Science (desirable) or equivalent experience (essential).
  • Lean manufacturing expertise (essential); Lean Six
  • Sigma Green Belt (desirable).
  • Strong ERP/MRP system knowledge (essential).
  • Change management experience in production (essential).
  • Advanced IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting (essential).
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, able to prioritise and make decisions (essential).
