InnoTrans 2018 held in Berlin on the 18th – 21st September saw Ferrabyrne Ltd and Siemens Mobility GmbH sign a Letter of Intent for the supply of suspension components for a major new Desiro metro project.
Ferrabyrne Ltd, a UK based SME, supports the Rail OEM, overhaul and refurbishment markets delivering a comprehensive package for the supply and service of railway suspension systems and components throughout the UK and world markets. Products such as primary and secondary suspension components as well as Anti-Roll Bar systems and Traction Centre Assemblies are designed, manufactured, tested and validated at Ferrabyrne’s Sussex-based factory.
This signing with Siemens Mobility GmbH is the start of a project supporting the Siemens Graz factory based in Austria, which is the world centre of competence for Siemens bogies. Over 2500 bogies are manufactured by 850 staff every year and is one of the most productive in the world.
The Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP Secretary of State for Transport witnessed the signing in front of senior Ferrabyrne and Siemens management, marking the next phase of the developing relationship between these businesses that are both recognised for their first-class engineering capabilities.
